News Double Dragon Revive Arrives in 2025

doubledragonreviveannouncement.jpg

Glorious times for beat'em up fans. Many games have seen the light of day but does anything top the news of a new Double Dragon? We don't think so!
The two brothers Billy and Jimm Lee are hitting the streets once again.

The graphics may look a bit dated but that shouldn't spoil the fun if the gameplay is on point. A fun new feature we can spot in the trailer is being able to knock enemies into dumpsters and fridges.

Double Dragon Revive is set to arrive on Windows, Playstation and Xbox platforms somewhere next year.

News Delta Emulator iPad Support Arrived in Version 1.6

delta emulator 1.6.jpg
If you want to play Nintendo games on iPad, great news! Delta Emulator version 1.6 is available for download now in the Apple App Store and the AltStore PAL.

This is a major update with a few interesting features:
  • Optimized for iPad
  • Improved DS compatibility
  • New skins
  • New menu button gestures
  • New logo
  • Seamless switching between iPad and iPhone
A small sidenote: the new update is still incompatible with existing DS save states. The developer warns people to save normally in-game before updating to prevent losing progress.
They have also released a new app called Delta Legacy, which helps users to migrate their save states.

All information and instructions about save states are found on the Delta website.

News First Nintendo Switch Lite OLED Mod on the Way

News First Nintendo Switch Lite OLED Mod on the Way

nintendo-switch-lite-oled.jpg

The Nintendo Switch Lite is probably my personal favorite version of the Switch. It's the most compact, plays all the same games and reminds me more of the golden handheld era because of it's compact size.

The only downside to the Lite was not having an OLED display but it seems that is about to change thanks to Taki Udon.
Taki is a well known modder in the community and he has just showed us his latest creation.

The unit seen in the picture above is a working prototype with full functionality. Next up finetuning the details.
Udon claims they are planning to release it at a maximum price tag of $50. Tempting...

supersega pro interface.jpg

For those of you who haven't heard about the ambitious SuperSega FPGA project, a small intro.

The SuperSega claims/aims to be an all-in-one Sega FPGA console that will play EVERY Sega generation from SG-1000 to Dreamcast.
It is based of a Virtex Ultrascale+ FPGA chip to replicate the hardware as accurate as possible. Other features will include Wifi and bluetooth, an SD card slot, optical drive, usb-ports and 8 joystick ports for original Sega controllers.

Now, we finally have some new information as they have shown the Saturn, Master System and Mega Drive/Genesis cores in action. The cores are not finalised with still some development left, however seeing that the team keeps making progress, we are optimistic about it ever seeing an actual release.

A fully working prototype is set for October with a final product in December. Fingers crossed!

News Analogue Announced a Pocket Aluminum

News Analogue Announced a Pocket Aluminum

analogue pocket.jpg

Analogue has just announced a highly precision cnc'd aluminum version of their popular pocket handheld.

The pocket is arguably the best GB/GBC device out there and thanks to openfpga you can add a whole lot more consoles to the list.

This version will, in true Analogue fashion, be ''highly limited'' and will cost a pretty penny at 499,99 USD without shipping and potential import taxes if you live outside of the US.
On the other hand, this is probably the ultimate version of their handheld and so far not a single device has come close to the absolutely incredible quality of their display.

If you want to snatch one, Juli 15th at 8am PDT. Yay or nay?

For more info, check out their website: Analogue Pocket Aluminum

News Sonic Mania could get an unofficial Dreamcast release

sonicmaniadreamcast.jpg
Sonic Mania is the game we wished we had but never saw released on the Sega Dreamcast, however that could change very soon.

SonicFreak94 ported the game to the Dreamcast and now has it running on native hardware and it is already fully functional.

Running at 60 FPS with all stages playable, this would be an unofficial release we would love to own. Limited Run, we need you guys.

Another fan made a mock up for a potential box and it would make for a killer release if you ask me.

So, who is funding this physical release? We will keep our credit cards at the ready.

News New Mod Fixes Biggest SNES Issue With Improved CVBS and S-Video

snes-2chip-edge-enhancer.large.jpg

Voultar is a well-known figure in the modding community and he has probably released the best mod chip out there for anyone seeking the best video output on a Super Nintendo by reverse engineering the DAC and reconstructing/improving on its weaknesses.

The mod does require some basic soldering but only needs 5 wires and can be done fairly easily.

The chip doesn't use any sort of video amplifier because according to Voultar ''a boosted low-pass filter sharpens the image but underperforms and can even oscillate.''

Enhancer.jpg

Another remarkable feature is the fact the chip affects all the video outputs. This means RGB, S-Video and Composite video will see a significant increase in video quality thanks to this mod chip.

Have a look at the excellent video by ''My Life in Gaming' which already posted an in-depth video on the SNES Edge-Enhancer...
